How to get Energy drinks in Stray: A guide for thirsty cats

If you’re like me, you love exploring the post-apocalyptic world of Stray, where you play as a cat in a city of robots. But sometimes, you need a boost of energy to keep going. That’s where Energy Drink Speed 2K comes in handy. This fizzy beverage can be found in vending machines scattered around The Slums, and you can trade them with Azooz, the friendly shopkeeper, for some cool items.

I’m a Cat

Stray is a 2022 adventure game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and mutant bacteria, and sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion, B-12.

The game is set in an intricate post-cyberpunk world, where you take control of a far-from-home feline using your special cat powers to explore beautifully crafted environments and aid the various characters you will meet along the way.

Where to find the Energy Drinks

But how do you find these vending machines? And more importantly, how do you get the drinks for free? Well, lucky for you, I have the answers.

Here are the locations of all four Energy Drink Speed 2K cans in Stray, and how to get them without spending a dime.

by Annapurna Interactive

The first can is right under your nose. Literally. From the Guardian robot that greets you at the entrance of The Slums, turn left and go down the stairs. You’ll see two vending machines across from Morusque, the guitar-playing robot. One of them has a light on, which means it’s working. Just press the button and grab the can that pops out. Easy peasy.

by Annapurna Interactive

The second can is a bit further away, but still easy to find. Go back to the Guardian robot and turn around. Follow the path until you reach a dead end with a sign that says “RIP Humans”. Take a left and look for a white vending machine with a light on. Press the button and claim your prize.

The third can is on the rooftops, where you can enjoy some fresh air and a nice view. From Momo’s apartment (the one with the orange sign), ride the bucket down and follow the rooftops to the right. You’ll see a red vending machine with a light on near an old sofa. Press the button and snag the can.

The fourth and final can is the trickiest one to get, but also the most rewarding. Go back to the dead end where you first entered The Slums. Follow the alley until you see a robot watching TV. Go to the stairs next to it and turn around. You’ll see a yellow vending machine on a balcony above you. Jump up there and press the button to get your last can.

Congratulations! You’ve collected all four Energy Drink Speed 2K cans in Stray! Now you can head to Azooz’s shop and trade them for some awesome stuff, like a memory chip or some sheet music. Or you can just drink them all and feel the rush of caffeine coursing through your veins. Either way, you’ve earned it.

I hope you enjoyed this brief guide on how to get the energy drinks in Stray. If you did, please share it with your fellow cats and leave a comment below.

And don’t forget to check out my other guides, where I’ll show you how to solve puzzles, find secrets, and make friends with robots.

Until next time, stay hydrated and stay curious!
